Cassette Inlays
About the Artwork
Imagine Software's cassette inlays were a deliberate part of their market positioning. The bold illustrated covers - closer in style to music packaging than the plain technical layouts common in early ZX Spectrum publishing - reinforced the message that Imagine was in the entertainment business.
The inlays shown here are sourced from World of Spectrum, the primary archive for ZX Spectrum software documentation. They represent the physical product that buyers took home from newsagents and computer shops throughout 1982-1984.
