Activision’s first title to sell over one million units. Kaplan designed the game; Crane contributed the Mad Bomber sprite and the bomb and bucket graphics. The Activision Bucket Brigade patch required 3,000 points.

Dodge traffic as a chicken crossing the highway - Crane’s response to Frogger. The Save the Chicken Foundation patch required 20 crossings on game 3 or 7.

One of the earliest home hockey simulations. The All-Star Hockey Team patch required beating the computer. Note: Alan Miller, not Larry Miller - two different programmers.
Formula One racing across four circuits. Crane first used wheel animation here - the same technique that informed the Pitfall! running man. The Grand Prix Driving Team patch had four time-based tiers.

Infinite vertical-scrolling shooter using a polynomial algorithm to generate the river terrain. Banned in West Germany for 18 years (1984–2003). Nearly 1 million copies sold by 1984. River Raiders patch: 15,000 points.
Wave-based shooter with varied enemy patterns across eight stages. Won “Most Humorous Home Arcade Game” at the 4th Annual Arkie Awards (1983). Megamaniacs patch: 45,000 points.

Endurance car race with a genuine day/night cycle and changing weather - technically impressive for 1983 2600 hardware. Roadbusters patch: survive 5 game days.
Tank combat with progressive system damage - weapons, radar, and tracks can each be destroyed independently. The Robot Tank manual includes a tip page explicitly crediting Alan Miller. Three patch tiers: Medal of Merit, Cross of Excellence, Star of Honor.
Drop flowerpots on advancing spiders from a rooftop. Note: programmed by Dan Kitchen (Garry’s brother), not Garry Kitchen - a common misattribution. Crackpots patch: 75,000 points.
Submarine rescue mission - shoot enemy subs while ferrying survivors to the surface, managing oxygen. One of Cartwright’s five confirmed 2600 titles. Sub Club patch: 50,000 points.
Build an igloo by jumping on ice floes while avoiding arctic hazards. Cartwright described Frostbite as “the best of the five, as it was the last one I did for the 2600.” Frostbite Bailey’s Arctic Architects patch: 40,000 points.

Side-scrolling space commuter shuttle puzzle game - collect workers and deliver them to the right platforms. One of Van Ryzin’s two confirmed Activision 2600 credits (with H.E.R.O.).
Detailed space shuttle simulation - launch, orbital maneuvers, and landing. Two patch tiers: Space Shuttle Pilot (4 or 5 missions with 4,500 fuel remaining) and Space Shuttle Commander (6 missions with 7,500 fuel remaining).
