Turrican Flashback — Nintendo Switch & PlayStation 4

Turrican Flashback is the official modern compilation released in 2021 by ININ Games for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4. The collection includes four games:

• Turrican (Amiga version)
• Turrican II: The Final Fight (Amiga version)
• Super Turrican (SNES)
• Mega Turrican (Mega Drive)

Available digitally through the Nintendo eShop and PlayStation Store. A physical limited edition was produced. This is the recommended starting point for newcomers to the Turrican series on modern hardware.

Evercade Turrican Collection — Retro Cartridge

The Evercade Turrican Collection is a physical cartridge for the Evercade retro handheld and home console system. It contains six games:

• Turrican
• Turrican II: The Final Fight
• Mega Turrican
• Super Turrican
• Super Turrican 2
• Turrican 3

The Evercade format supports both handheld and TV-connected play. The Turrican Collection is one of the most content-complete official releases of the series. Available from evercade.co.uk.

C64 Emulation — VICE

VICE (Versatile Commodore Emulator) is the definitive free and open-source C64 emulator, available for all major platforms. To play Rainbow Arts C64 titles:

1. Download VICE from vice-emu.sourceforge.io
2. Launch the x64sc binary (the most accurate C64 emulator core)
3. Obtain legitimate disk images (.d64, .d81) for the titles you own
4. Attach the image via File → Attach Disk Image
5. Type LOAD"*",8,1 and RUN, or use the Autostart feature

VICE supports accurate SID emulation via its reSID engine. Enable this in the Sound settings for the most accurate Hülsbeck playback.

Amiga Emulation — WinUAE / FS-UAE

WinUAE (Windows UAE) is the gold standard Amiga emulator for Windows. FS-UAE provides a cross-platform alternative for macOS and Linux with similar accuracy. To play Rainbow Arts Amiga titles:

1. Download WinUAE from winuae.net or FS-UAE from fs-uae.net
2. Provide Amiga ROM files (Kickstart 1.3 for OCS titles including Turrican)
3. Obtain legitimate ADF disk image files for Rainbow Arts titles you own
4. Configure an A500 with OCS Agnus / Denise for authentic Turrican experience
5. Enable Paula emulation for accurate Hülsbeck OCS audio output

For Turrican II on Amiga in particular, accurate OCS audio emulation is essential to experience Hülsbeck’s score as intended. Use the A500 configuration.
