Where to Start

Best starting point: The Secret of Monkey Island Special Edition (GOG or Steam) — the remastered version includes the original game so you can toggle between the authentic pixel art experience and the updated visuals. The Special Edition also adds voice acting by Dominic Armato if you want it.

Play them in order. The series has a continuous story — Guybrush, Elaine, and LeChuck carry through all six games. MI1 → MI2 → CMI → EMI is the classic LucasArts run. Then Return to Monkey Island as a conclusion that rewards knowledge of the whole series.
