Donkey Kong Country

The original. Rare's ACM pre-rendered graphics set a new visual standard for 16-bit consoles. 40 levels across eight worlds — from Kongo Jungle to Gangplank Galleon. Five animal buddies. David Wise's landmark ambient score, including Aquatic Ambience. King K. Rool as villain. Over 9 million copies sold; second best-selling SNES title of all time.

Diddy's Kong Quest

The trilogy's masterwork. Darker pirate aesthetic — rusted galleons, bramble fortresses, lava factories, haunted amusement parks. Dixie Kong's helicopter spin adds depth to the platforming. Kremcoins and DK Coins fund the Lost World — five stages of extreme difficulty. David Wise's score, headlined by Stickerbush Symphony, is among gaming's most celebrated. 5.3 million copies sold.
