The Team

People

The designers, programmers, and composers who built the Bullfrog legend.

Co-Founders

Peter Molyneux

Co-Founder & Creative Director

The creative driving force of Bullfrog. Molyneux co-founded the studio in 1987 and directed its most celebrated titles, including Populous, Syndicate, Theme Park, and Dungeon Keeper. His restless ambition and willingness to subvert convention defined the studio's character. He departed in 1997 to found Lionhead Studios, where he continued developing god games with Black & White and Fable. His quotes on design appear throughout the Interviews section.

Les Edgar

Co-Founder & Managing Director

Les Edgar co-founded Bullfrog alongside Molyneux and served as the studio's managing director, handling the business and commercial side of the operation while Molyneux drove the creative agenda. His role in building Bullfrog's commercial infrastructure and navigating the EA relationship was essential to the studio's sustained output through its peak years.

The Team

Glenn Corpes

Lead Programmer - Populous Engine

Glenn Corpes built the engine that powered Populous and established Bullfrog's technical identity. His isometric rendering and tile-simulation code was foundational to the studio's first wave of titles. Corpes has spoken in depth about the Populous engine architecture in the Revival Retro 2024 talk alongside Alex Trowers - see the embed below. He is cited in the Interviews section for his account of early Bullfrog development.

Mark Webley

Producer / Designer

Mark Webley worked at Bullfrog throughout the studio's main creative period and followed Molyneux to Lionhead Studios. After Lionhead, Webley co-founded Two Point Studios alongside Gary Carr, where he applied the lessons of the Bullfrog management sim tradition to Two Point Hospital (2018) and Two Point Campus (2022). See the Modern page for the full Two Point story.

Russell Shaw

Composer - Syndicate to Dungeon Keeper 2

Russell Shaw composed the soundtracks for the majority of Bullfrog's post-1993 output, including Syndicate, Theme Park, Magic Carpet, Theme Hospital, Dungeon Keeper, Populous: The Beginning, and Dungeon Keeper 2. His work in PC tracker and OPL formats defined the sonic identity of late Bullfrog. Full track listings on the Music page.

Adrian Moore

Composer - Early Titles

Adrian Moore composed music for early Bullfrog titles including Populous and Powermonger. His Amiga and Atari ST tracker compositions established the studio's musical identity before Russell Shaw took over as house composer. The early Bullfrog soundscape - sparse, atmospheric, technically constrained - owes much to Moore's foundational work.

Alex Trowers

Designer - Syndicate, Dungeon Keeper 2

Alex Trowers worked on several key Bullfrog titles including Syndicate and Dungeon Keeper 2. He has given detailed accounts of the studio's design process in interviews, including the Arcade Attack Podcast episode 151 and the Revival Retro 2024 talk with Glenn Corpes. His perspective on Syndicate's mechanics and Dungeon Keeper 2's development appears in the Interviews section.

Gary Carr

Artist / Art Director

Gary Carr contributed to Bullfrog's visual identity across multiple titles and, following the studio's closure, co-founded Two Point Studios with Mark Webley. His artistic sensibility is evident in Two Point Hospital's visual style, which echoes Theme Hospital's approach to charming, detailed hospital environments. See the Modern page.
